My Children are my Blessed Memories
The first blessed memory I can recall was the day I found out that I was going to have my first child. At 16 weeks was when the nightmare started, after my doctor appointment. He said the baby was not viable and wouldn't survive due to the high count of Rubella (German Measles) in my blood. Young mothers weren't' given choices back then, we were told what we had to do, then stuffed the pain. To this day I know I will see my little bundle of joy when I go Home to Heaven. This is the Blessing I choose to walk away with.
My next blessing was the day I found out I was pregnant, this time circumstances were different, being married. I went full term and on Sept. 24th 1980 the joy of my life arrived, Melissa (Missy). At 18 she blessed me with my first grandchild, a beautiful little girl, Kyla Mackenzie. The day before Missy's nineteenth birthday she went Home into Jesus' arms leaving me to raise her baby, only 9.5 months old. She is now out of pain, in Heaven with her sister/brother for the first time. To this day I know I will see my sweet Missy girl again, when I go to my Eternal Home in Heaven. Our children are not supposed to go before us but God can use the tragedies in our lives for His good. This is the Blessing I choose to walk away with.
My next blessing came when I found out I would again be blessed with another child. On April 18th 1983 God blessed me with another girl, Megan. Each child different, yet each the joy of my life. Missy girl was the perfect big sister to Megan. Both girls blessed me by following Jesus throughout their lives, never even gave me trouble through their teens. On Jan. 9th 2018 Megan blessed me with my second grandchild, another baby girl, Sophie added to our family.
I choose to walk blessed each day we all have together.
